Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by Kitchen Door Diaries!

When our friends or family stop by our house, they always use our kitchen door, the less formal entryway to our home. That is the inspiration for this space – a fun and easy way to share my style, home, and food ideas for the busy working professional!

I love creating modern, classic looks with my outfits for both work and play each day. Over the last several years, I’ve been working on building a wardrobe with key signature pieces that I consider investment items (always keeping my eyes open for sales) and layering in other items that are more trendy. I like to mix and match my looks so that it doesn’t appear that I ever wear the same outfit twice. I can’t wait to share some of these outfits as inspiration for you!

6 years ago, we moved into a 1930s colonial home. As my husband and I have worked to build a modern but cozy home, we’ve taken on so many different projects – from adding a screened in porch to replace a rotting deck, finishing our quirky stone basement, and redoing our master bedroom. I will share some of those projects on here too. My husband has the skills to do most anything I dream up and I love to plan, research, and design with him. As he’s tearing out paneling or laying new floor, I’m out scouring estate sales, antique malls, etc. to find one-of-a-kind items. I love finding vintage statement pieces to curate a fun, beautiful space. At the end of a project, I usually have stories to tell about the pieces I’ve found for the room – pieces that I know no one else will have.

Most people think I’m crazy that I run every day at 5 AM before heading into work. This is MY time and I use it to think about my day, prioritize work, and plan (more recently, I’ve thought A LOT about this blog). Running is a way for me to center myself but it also allows me to enjoy cooking and baking without a lot of guilt! I love to make and eat good food and will share some of my inspiration here.

I love to learn and challenge myself – and already this blog has been a learning experience! I welcome your feedback – both positive and constructive.

Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Cheers!
