Easy, Breezy Summer Dresses

As we get later into the summer, I tire of shorts – both how to style them and the humidity in Kansas makes them too hot around my waist! I’ve always loved a light summer dress to help on those really hot days – both for work and for play.

Recently, I found 3 dresses that are all $30 and under that I wanted to share with you! These dresses are going to help me get through these hot summer days and I hope they help you too! Let me know which one is your favorite in the comments below!

Dress 1 – Red, White & Gingham

This dress just makes me happy. I’ve already worn it a few times since I got it and have received SO many compliments. It is loose-fitting, slightly cut low/high (but not super obvious), and I love that it has pockets! It could be worn more casually with sandals or wedge espadrilles (shown below) to dress it up!

Dress 2 – Blue, White & Work Approved

I’ve been seeing so many cute blue and white dresses this summer but hadn’t pulled the trigger on any of them yet. I especially appreciate the shirtdress trend – it’s flattering on almost all body types and loose-fitting to be cooler in the summer heat!

I’d been eyeing this blue and white striped shirtdress from Talbots for a while and last week the price dropped to $30-score! What I love about Talbots is that they have a great variety of sizes for all ladies. I ordered my usual 2P and it fits TTS. I am just under 5’3″ so that means that I don’t have to get clothes altered when I purchase petite sizing.

Dress 3 – Navy, White & Oh So Cute

This is my second Shein summer dress find! It’s cut differently from the gingham dress I shared first – it’s a bit longer and has the cutest frilly details. I’m not usually into a lot of frills but this dress has just enough to make it stand-out without looking overdone. Like I shared earlier, I’m 5’3″ so this hits me a bit lower than it does on the model but I don’t mind. It’ll be great for al fresco dining, running errands, or even as a swimsuit cover-up.

Finally, can we talk about the chambray wedges I feature in all three of these photos?! They’re from Old Navy, comfortable and affordable. I’ve found that chambray goes with just about everything and for us shorter girls, the wedge heel is so flattering. I highly recommend these wedges for summer – sizes are selling out fast on the Old Navy site!
